Martellus Bennett is in his fourth season as a starter, and while he's been very good all year as far as catches and yards in those seasons, he tends to be only good as a scorer in the month of September. It's a little bizarre.
Bennett caught a touchdown against the Packers today, his 17th dating back to the start of the 2012 season, when he first became a full-time starter with the Giants. Of those 17 TDs, 11 have come in the first month of the season; so, 11 in just 13 September games. In the other 36 games he's played in the last three years, he's scored a total of 6 TDs. Weird.
If you've got Bennett on your roster, make sure to start him the next couple of weeks. Alas, with the late start to the season, Chicago has only three September games this year.
