Mariota roughed up in loss

MARCUS MARIOTA learned that life as a quarterback in the NFL isn’t always going to be as easy as it was in his debut. A week after his impressive season opener against Tampa Bay, Mariota was sacked seven times and lost two fumbles against a relentless Cleveland pass rush. A third fumble was nullified because the play clock had expired and an interception in the end zone was also erased by a Cleveland penalty. Mariota played the final three quarters on a sore left ankle. He walked with a slight limp after the game but said he would be fine for the home opener against Indianapolis next Sunday.
