Megatron, Abdullah should play for Lions

This has not been the season anyone was hoping for in Detroit, and perhaps especially not for WR CALVIN JOHNSON and rookie RB AMEER ABDULLAH. Both are questionable for tomorrow's finale at Chicago. Johnson has battled through an ankle injury for months now; early word is that he'll play despite the injury once again, and does not expect to need surgery on the ankle during the offseason. Abdullah has quietly been one of the best kick returners in the league, but a tendency to fumble has cost him carries, and an often putrid offensive line has cost him yards from scrimmage. That's gotten better lately -- Abdullah averaged 5.6 yards per carry in December -- but he may be affected this week (assuming, as we expect, that he plays at all) by a shoulder injury. Many of the pieces are in place for a fast turnaround to the Lions' fortunes, in other words, but perhaps not tomorrow.
