Browns signed Robert Griffin III, and they still have Josh McCown under quarterback. But they aren’t necessarily done at quarterback. They’ve got the No. 2 pick of the draft, and if they believe either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz can be a franchise player … well, in today’s game, it’s always tough to pass on a quarterback.
In an article posted at CBS Sports Jason La Canfora suggests that the Browns will take Goff rather than Wentz. La Canfora writes that the team’s scouts actually prefer Wentz, but that the Moneyball analytics guys now running the show prefer Goff.
If they stand pat with just Griffin and McCown, then those guys will need to be polished up. Over the last three years, 31 quarterbacks have started at least 20 games, and they’re the only two who’ve won under a quarter of their games.
