Eli Manning has won two Super Bowls. He has not, however, ever put up top-5 numbers in a fantasy league. Hard to believe, but true.
This is using standard scoring, and I’m using per-game production. Manning plays 16 games every year, so this works against him. But when looking at the merits of a player, it’s usually more useful to look at his potency, since if said quarterback gets hurt, you can usually find somebody else to plug in.
And using per-game stats, Manning has never quite cracked the top 5. He’s finished just 11th and 8th the last two years. He’s thrown 65 touchdowns in those seasons, but the bar has gone up with quarterbacks recently – everyone is throwing for more yards and touchdowns now.
Manning is remarkably immobile. So immobile, in fact, that I’m not even listing his rushing yards stats here. That’s a factor in him usually dropping a few spots.
In the chart below, the “points” are fantasy points per game, and the rank indicates how he fared against other quarterbacks who started at least half of the season.
