Cousins contract - risky business

Washington has until July 15 to sign quarterback KIRK COUSINS to a long-term contract. If they don’t, Cousins will play the 2016 season on the franchise tag and go into 2017 as an unrestricted free agent. While there could be some benefit to Cousins playing in a contract year, there are risks as well. If the contract situation causes him to feel a need to make more big plays, he could force things and turn the ball over more. Among his strengths last season was Cousins ability to play within the system and take what the defense gave him.
