The 2016 season is over (thankfully, there’s no Pro Bowl coming up this weekend) so we can now start looking at the upcoming season. For the 2017 draft, the Browns and Titans will be the power players in the first round.
Both of those teams traded out of the top 2 spots in the first round last year, relinquishing the rights to Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, so now they’re holding two top-20 picks.
The Browns hold choices Nos. 1 and 12. The Titans are picking 5th and 18th. So both have the opportunity to get better.
Two teams don’t have a first-round pick. The Rams (who made that Goff trade), and the Vikings (who traded away their first-round pick for Sam Bradford).
The order for the first round is as follows. The Colts and the Eagles will pick 14th and 15th, but that needs to be decided by a coin flip.
