There’s not a ton of difference between Washington’s wide receivers. Various guys could lead the team in catches, yards and touchdowns. But heading into camp, Terrelle Pryor looks most likely to be their No. 1.

Pryor has been working out with Kirk Cousins, and Cousins has been talking him up. Pryor was very good for the Browns last year, going over 1,000 yards for a bad team.

That’s enough to give Pryor a slight edge over Josh Doctson entering camp. Maybe more than a slight edge. According to a CSN Mid-Atlantic report, Doctson isn’t even working with the starting 11 at the team’s OTAs. They’ve got Ryan Grant in that spot.

Jay Gruden says both Grant and Doctson will play. He also made a comment about Grant being able to play all three positions. That has me thinking that Grant won’t start ahead of Doctson, but instead will be the primary backup at all three of their money spots. If either Pryor, Doctson or Jamison Crowder gets hurt (or is ineffective), they can plug Grant into that spot.

It’s a wide-open situation, and there are reports Washington also wants to get Crowder more involved. He finished with reasonable numbers last year (67 catches for 847 yards and 7 TDs, plus a punt-return touchdown), but he tailed off late in the season. He went over 42 receiving yards in only one of his final six games, with one touchdown.

For me, I don’t see a ton of difference between these guys. If I were walking into a draft today, I’d take Pryor first. I’d probably go with Doctson second, expecting he’ll win a full-time type role and then hoping he might be something special. If I were more interested in taking a safe 750 yards, I’d go with Crowder.
