Falcons butt Rams out of the way

The value of playoff experience seemed to be on display Saturday night, as a battle-tested Falcons team built a steady lead in the first half and held off late comeback attempts by the upstart Rams. Los Angeles Pro Bowl special-teamer PHAROH COOPER gets some of the blame, as he mishandled two kicks in the first half, but the Rams also seemed timid early on, with QB JARED GOFF misfiring under pressure and the team as a whole establishing very little rhythm. The offense did finally get going when forced into hurry-up mode in the fourth quarter, but Atlanta answered a late Rams field goal with a touchdown that put the game out of reach. The Falcons move on to face Philadelphia next week.
