Bears' Nagy holds starters out

Citing an extra-long preseason schedule that saw his team take part in the league's annual Hall of Fame Game, first-year Chicago coach Matt Nagy elected to hold many of his starters out of Saturday's would-have-been dress rehearsal against Kansas City. Quarterback MITCH TRUBISKY and most of his biggest weapons did not play; Nagy told reporters he's comfortable with what he's seen from the starting unit, and Trubisky in particular, in practice. One lesser-known guy who took full advantage of the extra reps: seventh-round receiver JAVON WIMS caught 4 passes for 114 yards and a highlight-reel touchdown.
