A warm round of applause is in order for Isaiah Crowell. He tends to be lightly regarded, but he’s a talented back who runs hard. He’s been busting a lot of big runs for the Jets, and he did the same thing with the Browns.
Crowell, believe it or not, is the only current player in the league who’s had a 50-yard run four years in a row (2015 thru 2018), and he’s done it despite playing on lesser teams. (Mark Ingram will join him if he can break one of those runs this year.)
And Crowell since 2015 is the only player in the league who’s scored 3 rushing touchdowns over 60 yards. Running backs have scored only 40 such touchdowns since the start of the 2015 season. Only a handful of others have two.
With 219 yards Sunday, Crowell set an all-time record for the Jets.
Crowell has made a couple of poor decisions off the field. He posted an offensive photo on his Twitter account two years ago. And he had the wild touchdown celebration in Cleveland a few weeks back. But when he’s got the ball in his hands, he’s a really nice runner.
