Question

Who are the only three players who have caught touchdowns for two different franchises in Super Bowl games? One of these should be pretty easy for most. The other two were formerly teammates. They caught touchdowns in the same Super Bowl game (one of them caught a touchdown in a Super Bowl two years earlier, and the other caught one in a game three years later).

Answer

Jerry Rice for starters; in addition to catching 7 touchdowns in Super Bowl games for the 49ers, he also caught one when Oakland lost to Tampa Bay 16 years ago. The others are Muhsin Muhammad and Ricky Proehl, who both caught touchdowns for Carolina against New England 15 years ago. Proehl also caught a touchdown against the Patriots as a Ram. Muhammad caught a touchdown for Chicago against the Colts. Both of Proehl’s touchdowns were game-tying scores after the two-minute warning (with the Patriots then winning those games with field goals).
