Question

In this century who is the only player who’s gone over 200 receiving yards in a season-opening game?

Answer

Anquan Boldin, and he’s oddly done it twice. He caught 10 for 217, with 2 TDs, for Arizona in his debut game as a rookie (2003 at Detroit), and he caught 13 for 208 yards, with a touchdown, in his first game for the 49ers, in 2013 against Green Bay.

I didn't know this one but I do know who the FIRST NFL WR in history to record 200 yards receiving in two consecutive games.Do you?

I don't know that one. If I were guessing, I'd go with Bill Groman of the Oilers (not technically an NFL team but now considered part of NFL history). I know he put up some monster receiving numbers. Maybe Crazylegs in the '50s. Maybe one of those other guys in the first few years of the AFL.

When this question first went by, I was thinking about old-time receivers. I had forgotten about modern-day getting on some hot streaks in recent years.

Not only is he the first but I think he is the only receiver that EVER had back to back 200 yard games .He also had 647 yards in 3 consecutive games.Mr. Dave gave the best hint for sure which is a real shame!

Megatron. In final regular-season game of 2011, he went for 244 yards in the snowstorm game at Lambeau. When they opened the playoffs on the road at the Superdome the next week, he caught 12 passes for 211 yards and 2 TDs.
