Question
In the Super Bowl era, Chicago and Washington (who meet tonight) have played three times in the postseason. The road team has won all three. The Bears won 23-19 at RFK in 1984, and Washington won at Soldier Field following the 1986 and 1987 seasons (27-13 and 21-17). What are the only other two teams who have done this? For these other teams, they were once in the same division, but two of the playoff games came after the realignment to 32 teams in 2002.
Answer
Baltimore and Tennessee. When they were both in the AFC Central, the Ravens upset the Titans 24-10 at Nashville, on their way to the Super Bowl. The Titans won 20-17 at Baltimore in 2003, and the Ravens won 13-10 at Tennessee in 2008. There are two series where home teams are 5-0, and they both involve New England. The Patriots are 4-1 against Indianapolis, while the Broncos have gone 4-1 against New England.
