Question
What two teams competed in the lowest-scoring conference championship game in league history?
Answer
The Rams and Buccaneers. Tampa Bay went 0-14 and 2-12 in its first two seasons but turned things around and hosted the NFC Championship game in its fourth season. The Rams won that game 9-0, advancing to play Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. These teams also played in the NFC Championship game in January, 2000, with the Rams winning another low-scoring game – 11-6. The combined 17 points in that one ties as the 2nd-lowest scoring NFC title game. These teams will play again on Sunday.
