As poorly as the Jets played Monday night, let’s not kick them to the curb just yet. They’re upcoming schedule is chock full of remarkably bad defenses.
New York is at Jacksonville on Sunday, which isn’t particularly notable, but the following six games including the Dolphins (twice), Bengals, Raiders, Giants and Washington. I expect the Jets, despite their flaws, will post considerable numbers in that block of games.
If we look at the next eight games for each team, the Jets will play opponents allowing an average of 27.5 points per week – over 2 more points than any other schedule.
The Steelers, Jaguars, and 49ers are the other teams with the easiest upcoming schedules.
The six teams that project to play the hardest schedules (in the next eight weeks) are all teams with notable offenses: Kansas City, Baltimore, Dallas, Green Bay, Houston and the Rams.
