Lions place RB Johnson on injured reserve

The Detroit Lions placed running back KERRYON JOHNSON on injured reserve on Tuesday with a knee injury. Head coach Matt Patricia confirmed that the Lions running back had surgery, but the team is hopeful he can return later in the season. By placing Johnson on IR, he is required to miss at least eight games – making him eligible to return for the team’s December 22nd game against the Denver Broncos. With Johnson out, the Lions will move forward with TY JOHNSON, J.D. MCKISSIC, and recent waiver claim TRA CARSON in the backfield.
