Question

Who are the only two active players who’ve had games where they’ve carried the ball 15 times and averaged under a yard per carry?

Answer

Saquon Barkley and Sony Michel. Both games, oddly, came in nationally televised season openers at home against the Steelers. Barkley just carried 15 times for 6 yards in the first Monday night game. A year ago, the Patriots opened the season with a 33-3 win over Pittsburgh in a Sunday night game, but Michel was their one player in that game who couldn’t get going at all – 15 carries for 14 yards. This has happened only three times in the last 10 years, and the other game also involved Pittsburgh’s defense. BenJarvus Green-Ellis (former Patriot playing for Cincinnati) carried 15 times for 14 yards against the Steelers in 2012.
