Question
Who were the last two teams to win NFL championships with shutouts? The same two franchises were involved in both games (each won one championship, and got shut out in the other).
Answer
Browns and Colts. In 1964, Cleveland hosted Baltimore and won 27-0, winning its last NFL title (and those same two teams will play again in the same city on Sunday). Four years later, the Colts hosted the Browns in the NFL title game and blanked them 34-0. That game played a big role in pretty much everyone being very confident that the Colts would have no trouble whatsoever in defeating the AFL’s New York Jets in Super Bowl III.
