Question

If the Buccaneers win at Lambeau on Sunday, Tom Brady will be in position to complete the rare feat of having started Super Bowls for both an AFC team and an NFC team. Who is the only other quarterback who has done this?

Answer

Craig Morton. Morton was the starting quarterback for Dallas in Super Bowl V (losing against the Colts). He started for Denver’s first Super Bowl team seven years later (losing against the Cowboys). From 1969 until that Super Bowl XII game, Morton started in eight playoff games, winning five of them, but didn’t complete better than 50 percent of his passes in any of those games. He completed just under 38 percent of his passes in those games, averaging 110 yards, with 7 TDs and 13 interceptions in those eight contests. Wildly different game at that time.
