Stafford era likely ending in Detroit

The Detroit Lions and veteran quarterback MATTHEW STAFFORD have reportedly both agreed that the time is right for a fresh start. Stafford approached the team after the season ended, suggesting a trade may be in the interest of both him and the Lions. The team has agreed to explore a deal. Quarterback needy teams include New England, Indianapolis, Washington and perhaps New Orleans, among others. Stafford has two years and $43 million remaining on his contract, a great value in today’s quarterback market.
