Question

The Panthers drafted Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard, putting themselves in position to have two running backs who ran for over 2,000 yards in a college season (Christian McCaffrey did it as a sophomore at Stanford). What team did this last year? Hint: It’s the same franchise that was the first to do this (back in the ‘80s).

Answer

Tennessee. Last year, the Titans were led in rushing by Derrick Henry but also used D’Onta Foreman a little bit. Henry and Foreman had 2,000-yard seasons at Alabama and Texas. In the 1988 and 1989 seasons (when the Titans were doing business as the Houston Oilers), they had both Mike Rozier (Nebraska) and Lorenzo White (Michigan State).
