Elijah Mitchell has run for over 100 yards in three games this year, but he oddly hasn’t caught a pass in any of them. That hurts his value in fantasy leagues (particularly of the PPR format), and it’s not something that’s common in today’s games.
With Mitchell’s recent run, I picked through some of the historical numbers. Only 21 players in the Super Bowl era have had four such games in a season. It last happened with a running back 10 years ago (Willis McGahee with the Broncos in 2011).
Christian Okoye is the all-time leader in this category, with 7 such games in 1989. Michael Turner of the Falcons (in 2008) is the only other player with more than 5.
Mitchell – if he keeps playing like he’s been playing – could be joining them.
