The publication schedule is:

  • Issue 1: Tuesday, March 8
  • Issue 2: 3rd Tuesday before Opening Day
  • Issue 3: 2nd Tuesday before Opening Day
  • Issue 4: Tuesday before Opening Day
  • Issue 5: Tuesday after Opening Day

Issues 2 through 5 could happen any time – March, April, May, June, July ...

We expect the projections and rankings to change substantially from issue to issue. As The Athletic pointed out (paywall), 199 major league players are free agents, plus Seiya Suzuki, plus more than 400 minor league free agents. These players will sign contracts in a mad rush during the 3-4 weeks leading up to Opening Day. We will revise our projections based on playing time and ballpark effects, and we will learn about injuries that were concealed – and those that occur in the sprint toward Opening Day. Expect the rankings to change meaninfully from issue to issue.
