Zack Moss has been tearing it up on my bench lately. With Jonathan Taylor back, it's been hard to count on Moss putting up big numbers. The last three weeks, Taylor has more yards, but Moss has outscored him 2-1. But this week, both look viable.
The Colts are at Carolina this week, and that team has really struggled to stop opposing ground games. It's allowed 14 rushing scores, more than anyone but the Colts themselves (so those who want to wade into the Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders backfield can also consider one of those players). But the Panthers have been remarkably, consistently awful against the run. It's not often we're halfway through a season and you see a defense that's allowed at least 130 rushing yards in all but one game, and multiple rushing touchdowns in all but one game.
Here are the grisly numbers against Carolina thus far. They've also allowed 2 TD receptions by running backs; those are included.
GROUND GAMES VS. CAROLINA | |||
---|---|---|---|
Team | Yards | TDs | Scoring backs |
Atlanta | 130 | 3 | Allgeier (2), Robinson |
New Orleans | 134 | 2 | Tony Jones (2) |
Seattle | 146 | 2 | Kenneth Walker (2) |
Minnesota | 135 | 0 | None |
Detroit | 159 | 3 | Montgomery, Reynolds |
Miami | 162 | 4 | Mostert (3), Ahmed |
Houston | 110 | 2 | Andrew Beck |
It's a week, I think, where if you happen to have both Taylor and Moss, you can at least consider starting both. Will be surprising if at least one of them doesn't get in the end zone, and maybe multiple scores between the two.
