Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirms QB Daniel Jones tore his ACL and will be out for the rest of the season.

Jones, just returning from a 3-game absence due to a neck injury, took another major hit after suffering a season-ending ACL injury during Sunday's 30-6 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The injury occurred during the last play of the first quarter. While an x-ray Sunday evening showed “nothing wrong,” according to Daboll, they scheduled an MRI for Monday morning.

The MRI confirmed Jones suffered a torn ACL according to Daboll and it was announced Jones would be sidelined the rest of the season.

Of the knee injury, "He felt like he buckled, and then he was running it off," Daboll said about the two plays that ultimately led to the injury. "We went over to him, we talked to him, he said, 'Nah, I'm good,' and then went back in, and it obviously wasn't."

Jones was 4 of 9 for 25 yards when he left the field for evaluation in the blue medical tent. He was ruled out at the start of the 3rd quarter.

Jones has a completion rate of 67.5%, 5.7 yards per pass attempt, and 30 sacks in the 2023 season. It remains to be seen what a new QB can do for the Giants with Jones now out.

Jones stats through Week 9.
