In a surprise move yesterday, the NY Jets released Carter with many throwing the Rams, Bengals, and Cardinals in the mix to claim the running back.
Today, sources announced that the Cardinals have claimed the third-year RB off waivers after the Jets released Carter less than 24 hours ago.
While Carter appeared to be poised to be the Jets star for years to come, he has not had a breakout season, racking up a paltry eight carries for 38 yards and 15 receptions for 68 years in nine games in 2023. The lack of stats comes from him sitting third on the depth chart.
Cart was the Jets’ fourth-round pick in 2021 had rushed for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns as well as 92 receptions for 681 yards in 39 games.
