The Blackout pulled no punches in Week 17. Lamar Jackson’s MVP performance was blacked out. CeeDee Lamb’s 227 yard monster was off limits. Kyren Williams’ huge game and Breece Hall’s back to back big games were unavailable. Yet there were a lot of points left to be had this week. The eligible RB1, Isaiah Pacheco, was selected on just 4.5% of rosters while the RB2, James Conner, only made 1%. Crowd favorite DJ Moore provided another big game but the WR1, Davante Adams, made just 5.2% of entries and just 2.6% of rosters included the WR3, Jayden Reed. Juwan Johnson, who was the TE1 on the week, was only selected twice. Even after all that, the perfect roster score dropped significantly, down 41.45 points from last week, while the winning roster and most popular roster went up. So, it was a good week for managers as well as for the Blackout.

The biggest games from outside the player pool came from WRs again this week. Bo Melton, WR, GB showed up with 6/9 for 105 yards and a TD in just his third game of the season. Trey Palmer, WR, TB doled out some hope to dynasty managers with 18.40 points and Julio Jones, WR, PHI reemerged with 17.40 points on a hyper-efficient 2/2 for 2 TDs.

The crowd bounced back in a big way in Week 17 scoring 63.7% of the maximum points compared to 35.3% last week. Justin Fields missed being QB2 by 0.10 points when Kyler converted the only successful two-point try of the week. Travis Etienne and Brandon Aiyuk provided big scores and only four players under 10 points helped the crowd to recover.

GIWizard’s win in Week 17 moves him into 186th place overall. He has eight weeks in the top 100 and could be a contender except for missing Week 3. At the top of the leaderboard, DT BOMBERS failed to capitalize on having closed the lead to just 36.95 points. He fell to 3rd place behind a 197th place finish. Plano Guru stormed back from 4th to retake 2nd by a slim margin with a 20th place finish. However, Mighty Grimace’s is still in the top spot. His 171st place finish this week expanded his lead to 41.35. It’s entirely possible that someone catches him with a big game but he’s certainly the favorite heading into the final week of the season. A little feedback from a long time customer.

Our fantasy pool is entering its 25^th year and I have used multiple books and on-line tools over the years.

I have locked on to Fantasy Index as my go to for the last 5 years and have won the pool 3 of those years and finished no lower than 4^th.

Interesting to see how much more accurate you were at the end of the year compared to other books my competitors used.

I wanted to thank you for such an amazing product and your customer service. I ordered the wrong date for my update and called to correct the mistake. Your customer service person was very kind, helpful and took care of the issue immediately.

I have used your product for the past 18 years or so… Every now and then I will be tempted and look at what other magazines have to offer, quickly realizing no one comes close.

In addition to the magazine, I started buying the weekly updates years ago when my dad taught me a lesson. The draft came and dad was sitting in the 12 hole for his pick. He told me he felt very comfortable about who he was going to select but would not tell me who his prized gem was to be. I was doubtful. The pick? Priest Holmes (his first dynamite year). I remember telling my dad, "that is a decent pick but they plan to pull him at the goal line." Ever the teacher, dad explained he had purchased the Fantasy Football Index update and read Holmes would get the goal line carries. "Update?", I asked. That was 2002 and Holmes had 21 rushing TDs and Dad won the title! Lesson learned.

By the way, I have made the title game for the last 5 years in a row. Thanks for the detailed, hard work and an great product!
