Michael Day From Stoneham, MA Wins in Week 16

Three of the top five rosters started Amari Cooper but only Michael landed the Brown’s QB1/WR1 stack of Flacco/Cooper. He selected four maximum point scorers and added solid outings from Baker Mayfield, Derrick Henry and Calvin Ridley to claim a commanding win. Michael’s margin over the second place team was a sturdy 12.75 points. The Blackout landed a few solid blows this week. The RB2 and RB3 were blacked out as well as the TE2, but for the most part the top scoring players were available. It was a high scoring week as well, only Week 5’s perfect score of 381.30 tops this week. But, could managers capitalize? RB1 Breece Hall got plenty of love but the RB2, James Conner made just three rosters. About 5% of Blackout rosters cashed in on Amari Cooper’s huge week but not a single roster included the WR2, George Pickens. Compared with recent weeks the crowd improved their selections a bit while the Blackout struggled. Viewed from above though, chaos still reigns in 2023 with unexpected splash games and devastating injuries setting the tone week after week.

The strongest scores from outside the player pool came from Chris Rodriguez, RB, WAS who scored 19.5 points and DJ Chark, WR, CAR who came out of nowhere with 27.80 points.

The crowd did not have a great week. The most popular players roster reads like the Cliff’s Notes of every semi-finals heartbreak of the season. Brock Purdy actually did well here since we don’t penalize interceptions. He threw four picks and was one of the worst fantasy playoff disappointments of the week. Regular “Wisdom of the Crowd'' draftees Alvin Kamara, DJ Moore and Jake Ferguson failed to reach double digits. The crowd managed just 35.3% of the maximum score in Week 16. The lowest percentage of the season and only the third time we fell below 40%.

Scruff Dog’s win in Week 16 moves him into 177th place in the overall leader board. At the top Mighty Grimace’s is still holding the 1st overall spot but a crack may have appeared in his armor. The 3rd overall team after Week 15, DT BOMBERS leapt into 2nd place behind a 20th place finish in Week 16. That lowers Mighty Grimace’s lead to 36.95, down from 90.15 last week. The 3rd place team is trailing by over 80 points. So with only two weeks to play we have a two way race for the top spot with a surging DT BOMBERS on the heels of Mighty Grimace’s who has had a stranglehold on the top spot for most of the season. A little feedback from a long time customer.

Our fantasy pool is entering its 25^th year and I have used multiple books and on-line tools over the years.

I have locked on to Fantasy Index as my go to for the last 5 years and have won the pool 3 of those years and finished no lower than 4^th.

Interesting to see how much more accurate you were at the end of the year compared to other books my competitors used.

I wanted to thank you for such an amazing product and your customer service. I ordered the wrong date for my update and called to correct the mistake. Your customer service person was very kind, helpful and took care of the issue immediately.

I have used your product for the past 18 years or so… Every now and then I will be tempted and look at what other magazines have to offer, quickly realizing no one comes close.

In addition to the magazine, I started buying the weekly updates years ago when my dad taught me a lesson. The draft came and dad was sitting in the 12 hole for his pick. He told me he felt very comfortable about who he was going to select but would not tell me who his prized gem was to be. I was doubtful. The pick? Priest Holmes (his first dynamite year). I remember telling my dad, "that is a decent pick but they plan to pull him at the goal line." Ever the teacher, dad explained he had purchased the Fantasy Football Index update and read Holmes would get the goal line carries. "Update?", I asked. That was 2002 and Holmes had 21 rushing TDs and Dad won the title! Lesson learned.

By the way, I have made the title game for the last 5 years in a row. Thanks for the detailed, hard work and an great product!
