Veteran guard signed to Browns' practice squad in hopes of bolstering their offensive line as they approach the playoffs.
At 35, Saffold who has played 173 games in the NFL, brings a wealth of experience, having been a key player for the Bills last season where he started in every game. His career also includes significant time with the Titans and the Rams, who selected him 33rd overall in the 2010 draft. Recently, Saffold was part of the Jets’ practice squad, however he didn't see any playing time in 2023.
Saffold's addition gives the Browns an option to call him up for their final regular-season game against the Bengals or during their playoff run.
The Browns secured their place in the playoffs with a huge win last Thursday night followed by securing the AFC’s top wild-card spot, following the Baltimore Ravens' decisive win over the Miami Dolphins.
They finish the season against the Bengals before heading to the Wild-Card round slated for January 13-15th.
