The Falcons are giving Raheem Morris a second chance, and that might be a good thing. He’s a better coach now than when he was a 32-year-old hired by the Bucs.

Morris has another dozen years of experience now, and he did good work in his three seasons as a defensive coordinator with the Rams. Especially in the second half of the playoff loss at Detroit. They were able to make second-half adjustments, slowing down the Lions, giving the offense the opportunity to pull out the game (that ultimately didn’t happen, but that doesn’t diminish what the Rams were able to do on that side of the ball).

Plenty of other coaches have been far more successful at their second jobs. Of the last 25 Super Bowls, 17 have been won by coaches who were previously head coaches with other teams.
