Wide receiver Calvin Ridley agreed to a four-year, $92 million contract with the Tennessee Titans. While there were talks about him signing a contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the former Alabama standout bolted for the Jaguars’ division rival.

NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport states that Ridley’s contract comes with $50 million in guaranteed money. It’s a massive deal for a player penalized for an indefinite suspension in 2022 for gambling on games.

While serving his suspension, the Atlanta Falcons traded Ridley to the Jaguars for a conditional 2023 sixth-round and 2024 fourth-round picks. In his lone season with Jacksonville, he had 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns.

Ridley’s best season occurred in 2020 when he established career highs in receptions (90) and receiving yards (1,374). Those numbers earned him a Second-Team All-Pro selection.

The Florida native holds the Falcons franchise record for most receiving touchdowns in a season by a rookie with ten, set in 2018. He also has the most receiving touchdowns by a rookie in his first four games with six.

After signing his contract, Calvin Ridley will join a team that underwent much transformation. Aside from hiring Brian Callahan as head coach, the Titans have acquired running back Tony Pollard, center Lloyd Cushenberry, cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, and quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Despite these additions, the Titans still have the most cap space for 2024 at $70.1 million.
