Keenan Allen and Marquise Brown will play for new teams in the 2024 NFL season. The Los Angeles Chargers traded Allen to the Chicago Bears for a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs signed Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $11 million.

The Chargers drafted Allen in 2013 when they were still based in San Diego, California. Since then, he made six Pro Bowls and won the 2017 Comeback Player of the Year Award after missing all but one game of the 2016 season due to an ACL tear.

He had six 1,000-yard seasons for the Chargers, including 2023, when he finished with 1.243 yards and seven touchdowns. In 11 seasons with the Chargers, Allen has 904 receptions for 10,530 yards and 59 touchdowns. The former Cal standout averaged 11.6 yards per catch and 75.8 receiving yards per game with the Chargers.

Aside from Allen, they also signed running back D’Andre Swift to a three-year contract.

Meanwhile, Brown will join the two-time defending Super Bowl champions after two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He spent his first three NFL seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before being traded to Arizona on Day 1 of the 2022 draft for the Cardinals’ first-round (23rd overall) selection.

Brown has 313 receptions for 3,644 yards and 28 touchdowns in five NFL seasons. His lone 1,000-yard season came in 2021 (1,008) with six touchdowns. He will join a receiving unit featuring Rashee Rice, Skyy Moore, Justyn Ross, and Kadarius Toney.

The Chiefs also brought Irv Smith Jr. to provide depth at tight end behind Travis Kelce and Noah Gray.
