The Philadelphia Eagles announced through their official website that they’ve signed tight end C.J. Uzomah to a one-year contract. However, the terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

He last played for the New York Jets but suffered an MCL injury that abruptly ended his 2023 season. Uzomah finished the season with eight receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown in 12 games.

Uzomah started his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team that selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. His best season with the Bengals came in 2021 when he finished with 493 receiving yards and five touchdowns. His improved play helped the Bengals reach Super Bowl 56, which they lost to the Los Angeles Rams.

After that season, Uzomah signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Jets. The former Auburn standout finished his first season in New York with 21 receptions for 232 yards and two touchdowns. Both of his scoring catches that season came in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions.

In nine NFL seasons, Uzomah has 192 receptions for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns. He will join a team that suffered a massive collapse last season after losing six of their last seven games, including the Wild Card Round game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

C.J. Uzomah will beef up Philadelphia's tight end rotation, which also features Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and Albert Okwuegbunam.
