The Miami Dolphins signed free-agent linebacker Cam Brown to a contract, the details of which remain undisclosed.

Brown played his first four NFL seasons with the New York Giants, the team that drafted him in the sixth round of the 2020 draft. Before joining the NFL, he was a Third Team All-Big Ten member during his final season at Penn State.

During his rookie season, Brown showcased his skills in 15 games, making 12 tackles, three quarterback hits, and a forced fumble. This performance was a testament to his potential and set the stage for his future in the league.

Brown had nine tackles in 12 games in his second year and six tackles in 2022. Last year, Brown had eight tackles and a forced fumble in 16 games.

Cam Brown will have an uphill climb to make the final roster for Week 1 of the 2024 season because he has played spot minutes in four seasons. The Dolphins have Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Jordyn Brooks, and David Long Jr. as their projected starting linebackers in the 3-4 defense.

Backing them up are Shaquil Barrett, Melvin Ingram, Channing Tindall, and Anthony Walker Jr. Brown must also compete with Cameron Goode, Zeke Vandenburgh, Duke Riley, and Quinton Bell for a roster spot.

Brown will likely be relegated to special teams if he does make the team.
