Colts, Eagles, Saints, Steelers Receive High Draft Marks from PFF

Pro Football Focus gave four teams an A+ grade after the 2024 NFL Draft. The number is split between the two conferences, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts representing the AFC. Conversely, the New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles received the same mark for their draft hauls.

The Colts selected edge rusher Laiatu Latu in the first round, the first defensive player chosen in the 2024 draft. In addition to Latu, they upgraded their defensive secondary by drafting safeties Jaylon Carlies, Jaylon Simpson, and cornerback Micah Abraham.

Indianapolis gave Anthony Richardson more targets in the passing game with wideouts Adonai Mitchell and Anthony Gould. They’ve invested in their offensive line with tackle Matt Goncalves and center Tanor Bortolini. General manager Chris Ballard closed their draft by getting defensive tackle Jonah Laulu in the seventh round.

Meanwhile, the Steelers bolstered their protection for quarterbacks by drafting offensive tackle Troy Fautanu, guard Mason McCormick, and center Zach Frazier. Head coach Mike Tomlin will welcome linebacker Payton Wilson, interior lineman Logan Lee, and cornerback Ryan Watts on defense. Pittsburgh took Roman Wilson in the third round, hoping to have him line up alongside George Pickens and Van Jefferson.

Meanwhile, the Saints addressed their concerns at offensive tackle by selecting Taliese Fuaga in the first round and Josiah Ezirim in the seventh round. They added Bub Means to their receiving corps and Spencer Rattler to the quarterback depth chart. The Saints drafted cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, linebacker Jaylan Ford, and interior defensive lineman Khristian Boyd.

Finally, the Eagles used their first two picks for cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. General manager Howie Roseman added Jalyx Hunt and linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. on defense. Conversely, Philadelphia selected running back Will Shipley, wide receiver Ainias Smith, guard Trevor Keegan, and center Dylan McMahon.
