Steelers Sign WR Scotty Miller

Free-agent wide receiver Scotty Miller signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After suiting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons, he will play for his third NFL team. Miller will join a wideout rotation featuring George Pickens, Calvin Austin III, Denzel Mims, and rookie Roman Wilson.

The Buccaneers selected Miller in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft. A year later, he was on the roster that won Super Bowl 55. His 39-yard touchdown catch before halftime helped the Buccaneers defeat the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.

After four seasons with the Buccaneers, Miller signed with the Atlanta Falcons and played for head coach Arthur Smith. He will be reunited with Smith, who will serve as the Steelers’ offensive coordinator this season.

In his lone season with the Falcons, Miller had 11 receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games. He has 85 catches for 1,085 yards and six touchdowns in five NFL seasons.

Miller is the fourth former Falcon that will join the Steelers in 2024. They also signed wide receiver Van Jefferson, running back Cordarrelle Patterson, and tight end MyCole Pruitt.

The Steelers hope Miller and their other additions can help them enter the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons. More importantly, they are looking for their first postseason victory since 2016.
