Rams, Browns, Cowboys Have Most Expensive Offensive Units in 2024

According to figures presented by Over the Cap, the Los Angeles Rams, Cleveland Browns, and Dallas Cowboys have the most expensive offenses heading into the 2024 NFL season.

The Rams have the highest price tag for offensive players at $190.7 million. Matthew Stafford ($31 million) and Cooper Kupp ($15 million) account for almost 20 percent of that amount. Offensive linemen Rob Havenstein ($6.5 million), Jonah Jackson ($8 million), and Kevin Dotson ($7 million) are among the top earners. Meanwhile, Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua will combine for a base salary of $1.9 million.

Meanwhile, the Browns will pay Deshaun Watson $46 million this season as part of his five-year, $230 million contract. Amari Cooper is also due $20 million in 2024. Finally, the Cowboys will pay Dak Prescott $29 million in base salary this season. CeeDee Lamb gets $17,991,000, while Brandin Cooks will earn an $8 million base salary.

Spending a fortune on offense might have helped these teams reach last year’s postseason. The Rams seven of their last eight games to clinch a playoff spot in the NFC, while the Browns earned a Wild Card entry into the AFC playoffs. The Cowboys earned the second seed after winning the NFC East.

However, none of them made it past the Wild Card Round. The Rams lost by one point to the Detroit Lions, the Browns came up short against the Houston Texans, and the Cowboys had a humiliating home loss versus the Green Bay Packers.

Coincidentally, the Packers have the second cheapest offensive unit for 2024 ($76.7 million), trailing only the Pittsburgh Steelers ($75.2 million).
