Joe Burrow Receives High Mark from PFF

Joe Burrow hopes for a bounce-back year after a season-ending wrist injury that forced him to miss the Cincinnati Bengals’ last six weeks. But even if he sat out that many games, Pro Football Focus still identified him as the league’s best in one aspect.

PFF revealed Burrow as the quarterback with the highest passing grade since 2021, 92.7. Since he missed several games in 2023, PFF gave him a 77.9 overall grade. While it’s still a respectable mark, it’s nowhere near his 90.8 in 2022 and 91.7 in 2021, the year he led the Bengals to a Super Bowl LVI appearance. Meanwhile, his passing scores from 2021 to 2023 are 91.2, 89.4, and 76.8, respectively.

Burrow finished the 2023 season with 244 completions for 2,309 yards and 15 touchdowns. Now that he’s healthy, the Bengals can aspire to become playoff contenders in a hotly contested American Football Conference.

Likewise, he has much to prove after signing a five-year, $275 million contract extension, making him one of the highest-paid NFL players in terms of annual average, tying him with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence.
