The Tennessee Titans and safety Jamal Adams have agreed to a one-year deal. Terms of the deal remain undisclosed. Adams was among the league’s best defensive backs earlier in his career, earning three All-Pro and three Pro Bowl selections from 2018 to 2020.
But since that COVID-altered season, his performance and availability have gone south. After playing only 12 games in 2021 due to a torn labrum, a torn quad tendon limited him to one game in 2022. Last season, he played nine games for the Seattle Seahawks, finishing with 48 tackles and two pass deflections. His declining performance prompted the Seahawks to release him during the 2024 offseason.

Adams will have an opportunity to redeem himself and rediscover his All-Pro form with the Titans. Likewise, he can be a mentor to up-and-coming safeties like Amani Hooker, Elijah Molden, Shyheim Carter, Mike Brown, Keaton Ellis, and Matthew Jackson.
However, while the Titans signed Adams to a one-year deal, there’s no guarantee he will make the active roster. He must compete for it during the Titans training camp, which starts on July 23 for rookies and veterans. But if Adams somehow turns back the hands of time, the Titans hit the jackpot by getting a high-value asset for a minimal salary.
