Aaron Rodgers sparked controversy when he missed the New York Jets’ mandatory minicamp for a scheduled trip to Egypt. He paid over $101,000 in fines for his three-day absence, which is chump change for the millions he has earned throughout his NFL career. But now that he’s back in the United States and gearing up for training camp, he ignited the rumor mills with what he said about Davante Adams.
A fan approached Rodgers on the golf course and asked how Luke Getsy would use Adams on the Las Vegas Raiders offense. The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player's response?
“I love Luke Getsy; he's a fantastic coach. I love Davante; I can't wait to play with him again."
Again. Is Rodgers hinting at the possibility of teaming up with Adams once more? Rodgers and Adams were teammates with the Green Bay Packers from 2014 to 2021, and the wide receiver earned three First-Team All-Pro selections during that stretch. Likewise, Adams helped Rodgers win three of his four NFL Most Valuable Player awards.

Both are no longer with Green Bay; Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, while Adams plays for the Las Vegas Raiders. Meanwhile, Getsy, who served as Rodgers' quarterbacks coach from 2019 to 2021, is dialing up plays for the Raiders.
Does Rodgers' response have weight, and is a reunion between him and Adams in the works? Only the days leading into training camp can tell.
