ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted that New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore will be out indefinitely due to blood clots. The team’s official statement regarding Barmore’s condition reads:
"Over the weekend, Christian Barmore was diagnosed with blood clots. He was appropriately treated by the doctors at Mass General Brigham, who tested, evaluated, and treated Christian. Our principal concern at this time is Christian's health and wellbeing."
The Patriots decided that Barmore would be a bright spot for the future by signing him to a four-year contract extension worth up to $92 million. That deal made him the second highest-paid player in Patriots history behind Tom Brady.
Patriots standout DT Christian Barmore was diagnosed this weekend with blood clots. There currently is no timetable for his return.

With one year left in his rookie scale contract, New England gave the former Alabama standout a hefty raise after he tallied 64 tackles, a team-leading 8.5 sacks, and six passes defended last season.
While the severity of Barmore's condition remains unknown, the worst-case scenario would be him missing some games this season. That would be a massive blow to the Patriots' pass rush because he nearly had 25 percent of New England's sacks last season.
