Cowboys Take Trevon Diggs Off PUP List

The Dallas Cowboys took cornerback Trevon Diggs off the physically unable-to-perform list, making him fit to attend training camp. However, the Cowboys will gradually increase participation, hoping he’ll be ready for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.

KDFW Fox 4 sports reporter Sam Gannon shared a video of Diggs doing light drills during the Cowboys training camp at Oxnard, California. However, he's not participating in team scrimmages yet.

After signing a five-year contract extension worth up to $104 million, Diggs lasted only two games last season after suffering a torn ACL during 1-on-1 drills at practice. He finished the season with four tackles, three passes defended, an interception, and a forced fumble.

Those numbers are far from his 2021 season, wherein he led the league in interceptions (11) and defensive touchdowns (2). The former Alabama standout added 21 pass deflections to earn a First-Team All-Pro selection.

While his attendance at training camp is welcome news, the timetable for his return remains uncertain. However, his absence helped DaRon Bland emerge as an All-Pro defensive back. Therefore, the Cowboys suddenly have a cornerback tandem who could be the best in the league.
