Madden 25 Gives High Regard to Chiefs Offensive Line

Regarding the Kansas City Chiefs, players like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce often get the limelight. However, the offensive linemen who block for the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player are frequently underrated. Their stability potentially puts the Chiefs in a position to win their third consecutive Super Bowl title.

EA Sports honored them by giving three Chiefs offensive linemen an overall grade of at least 90. As tweeted by the Chiefs’ official Twitter account, guard Trey Smith got a 90, Joe Thuney received a 91, and All-Pro center Creed Humphrey had a 92.

Those three linemen received high marks from Pro Football Focus, with Humphrey getting an 81.4. Thuney (74.9) and Smith (74.6) received roughly the same grades.

Likewise, Humphrey and Smith are a testament to the Chiefs’ excellent talent evaluation led by general manager Brett Veach. They selected Humphrey in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, despite medical issues, the Chiefs took a flyer on Smith in the sixth round of the same draft. These linemen are invaluable to their back-to-back Super Bowl-winning runs.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs signed Thuney to a five-year, $80 million contract during the 2021 offseason. While he has two years left in that deal, his status remains uncertain after the Chiefs placed him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list last month.
