Injuries Forced Josh Downs, Rondale Moore, and Jayden Reed Out of Practice

Wide receivers Josh Downs, Rondale Moore, and Jayden Reed's status became uncertain after they abruptly left their respective training camps due to injury. Downs suffered an ankle injury after getting tackled in a recent 7-on-7 drill during the Indianapolis Colts training camp. As Stephen Holder, ESPN beat reporter for the Colts, described, Downs couldn't put weight on his injured leg.

It's unfortunate because the former North Carolina standout had an impressive training camp. The Colts hope it isn't a serious injury because he is one of their budding offensive weapons. Last season, Downs finished his rookie campaign with 68 receptions for 771 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, The 33rd Team NFL writer Ari Meirov tweeted that doctors placed an air cast on Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Rondale Moore's right leg after being carried off the field during practice. While his status remains unclear, the Falcons hope he can play his first season after getting traded from the Arizona Cardinals. Moore finished the 2023 season with 40 receptions for 352 yards and a touchdown.

Finally, Jayden Reed didn't practice due to a calf injury. Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur shared in a recent press conference that they might get an update on Reed's status on Saturday. Reed also missed the early part of training camp due to a toe injury. Despite being a rookie last season, Reed led the Packers in receiving yards (793) and touchdowns (8).
