The Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran safety Tashaun Gipson to a one-year contract, the details of which remain undisclosed. However, the 2014 Pro Bowler will miss the first six games of the 2024 season to serve his suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. But since preseason games don’t count, he can participate in those games before serving his penalty.
Gipson claimed that he inadvertently took a substance banned from the league. He expressed his remorse for this development and will work on doing his best during his 13th NFL season. The defensive back from Wyoming first played for the Jaguars from 2016 to 2018. That stint came after the undrafted safety completed his rookie scale contract with the Cleveland Browns.

In addition to the Browns and the Jaguars, Gipson also played for the Houston Texans, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers. He was a member of the Niners squad that played in Super Bowl XLVIII but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gipson has 720 tackles, 70 passes defended, 33 interceptions, four forced fumbles, and 3.5 sacks in 183 career games (including playoffs).
