Dallas Goedert (oblique) back at practice

Index favorite looks good to go

Dallas Goedert is one of the tight ends we have ranked higher than where he's being selected in most drafts. Considerably higher: I haven't seen him go in the top 10 of any draft, but he's ranged from around 6th-8th on our board. I have him everywhere.

Goedert has missed most of the preseason due to an oblique injury, but the team's words and actions have indicated it's not a concern. Philadelphia has only one other tight end on the roster, and that player (Grant Calcaterra) has caught only 9 passes in two seasons.

Goedert returned to practice yesterday (the Eagles are on a different practice schedule than most teams, since they're playing the Packers on Friday night, in Brazil), so it looks like he'll be fine for Week 1. He'll be starting in all my lineups, and as long as he stays on the field, he should be pretty good this year.

He hasn't scored enough (just 3 TDs in three of the last four seasons) and he's missed some time due to injury, but he's been consistently productive when on the field in PPR leagues. After a quiet Week 1, Goedert was on the field full-time in 13 games a year ago. He caught at least 5 passes in seven of those, and 4 in four others. Reliably involved in the passing game.

The Eagles have a new offensive coordinator, but Kellen Moore seems like he'll be a plus for Goedert. His last three Dallas offenses put Dalton Schultz in the top 12 in PPR leagues three times; No. 3 at the position in one of those years. I'm not sure Goedert will be that good, but keep him healthy and he should outperform where he's being selected.
