The San Francisco 49ers received some good news after rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is out of harm’s way after getting shot during an attempted robbery.
An official update from the reigning National Football Conference champions reads:
" San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was released from the hospital this afternoon as he continues to recover from a bullet wound to his chest. He and his family, along with the entire San Francisco 49ers organization, would like to thank the San Francisco Police Department, emergency medical services, doctors, and staff at San Francisco General Hospital."
A 17-year-old male attempted to rob Pearsall last Saturday, August 31, when the wideout from Florida was walking alone. The suspect sustained injuries after Pearsall fought back.
Meanwhile, Ricky Pearsall's mother, Erin, posted on her social media account:
" Update on my baby boy. First and far most, I want to thank God for protecting my baby boy. He is extremely lucky, God shielded him. He was shot in the chest, and it exited out his back. Thanks be to God, it missed his vital organs. He is in good spirits right now. Life is so precious, my friends. Please love each other. My son was spared today by the grace of God. Please pray for my baby."
Miraculous: Ricky Pearsall's mother shared on Facebook that her son was shot in the chest, and the bullet exited out his back without hitting any vital organs.

The 49ers selected Pearsall in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Once fully recovered, he can contribute to an elite offense featuring Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Brock Purdy.
Pearsall had 965 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his final season with the Gators. He also played three seasons at Arizona State before transferring to Florida.
