WR Marquise Brown Out Of Chiefs Season Opener Versus Ravens

The Kansas City Chiefs have confirmed that wide receiver Marquise Brown won’t play during their 2024 season opener at home against the Baltimore Ravens due to a sternoclavicular dislocation. However, multiple reports suggest he won’t be out for long and could play in their Week 2 game versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Chiefs signed Brown to a one-year deal this offseason to boost their passing attack. His experience and talent make him the leader among Kansas City’s younger wideouts in Rashee Rice and rookie Xavier Worthy.

Last season, Brown finished with 51 catches for 574 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games for the Arizona Cardinals. However, he is expected to have a higher production in 2024 while playing with two-time NFL Most Valuable Player and three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes.

With Brown sidelined for Week 1, JuJu Smith-Schuster might see increased playing time for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions. The Chiefs brought back Smith-Schuster on a one-year deal after his release from the New England Patriots.

In addition to Brown, CB Nazeeh Johnson (hamstring), CB Joshua Williams (hamstring), OL Wanya Morris (knee), LS James Winchester (shoulder), DT Derrick Nnadi (triceps), LB Nick Bolton (elbow), G Joe Thuney (pectoral), and DL Chris Jones (shoulder) are all dealing with injuries. However, they are expected to play in their season opener at Arrowhead.

Meanwhile, Ravens OLB Adisa Isaac is out of action due to a hamstring injury, while RB Rasheen Ali is doubtful due to a neck injury.
