NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Buffalo Bills and right tackle Spencer Brown have agreed on a four-year, $72 million contract extension. The deal includes $45 million in guaranteed money and keeps him under contract until the 2028 season.
Brown will also get a $6.4 million signing bonus prorated throughout the contract’s duration. However, the Bills can opt out of the contract after the 2025 season, making Brown’s deal virtually a two-year contract with team options for 2026, 2027, and 2028.
If he’s still with the Bills during those years, Brown will earn base salaries of $7.1 million, $14.7 million, and $16.8 million, respectively. He will also get an annual roster bonus of $510,000 and an option bonus of $3.2 million from 2025 to 2028. Brown can also get an additional $7.1 million if he remains on the Bills roster in 2026.
Brown’s $18 million annual average salary ties him with Cam Robinson and Kolton Miller for 17th place among tackles. Meanwhile, the same amount makes him the eighth-highest-paid right tackle, earning $10 million less than top-ranked Penei Sewell.

Without an extension, Brown is in the final season under his four-year, $4.83 million rookie scale contract. However, he has been one of Buffalo’s offensive line stalwarts since joining the team in 2021.
Last year, Pro Football Focus gave him a 68.1 overall grade and 71.9 for run blocking. The former Northern Iowa standout also received an 80.4 pass-blocking grade during the Bills’ 2024 season opener against the Arizona Cardinals.
PFF states that Brown has allowed ten sacks and 83 pressures as of Week 1 of 2024. Those numbers factor in his 2,673 snaps at right tackle and 101 at left tackle.
